UNITED CASING, INC. (UCI) was originally established in 1974 as an OCTG trading company. In 1986 we enhanced our capabilities by establishing an API-approved threading facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. A second facility was added in Germany in 1994 (later sold to a pipe manufacturer), and a third was added in Houston, Texas in late 1999. In April 2010 we acquired an additional facility in Midland, Texas (see details below). UCI has a worldwide customer base which includes the former USSR and the People’s Republic of China. The group maintains offices in Switzerland, USA, Moscow, Beijing and Shanghai. The Chinese offices are operated in cooperation with our joint venture partner, Stemcor AG. United Casing’s prime focus is on OCTG (casing, tubing and drillpipe), but we also provide line pipe and specialty tubulars for refineries and high tech applications.

In cooperation with Stemcor AG, United Casing maintains inventories at its three threading and coupling manufacturing facilities:

United Casing Tubular Services (“UCTS”) is located in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. The facility is on 37 acres (15 hectares) with 5 separate manufacturing and processing buildings with total covered space in excess of 100,000 square feet (9300 square meters). This plant is capable of processing tubing from 1.050” OD (19mm) through casing 13-3/8” OD (339.7mm). Threading capacity is as follows:

Macaroni tubing 26.7mm - 48.3mm (1.050” - 1.900”)

Standard tubing 60.3mm - 88.9mm (2-3/8” - 3-1/2”)

Casing 114.3mm - 339.7mm (4-1/2” - 13-3/8”)

The threading capacity is for all API grades as well as non-API specialty grades. We also have the capability to thread four gas-tight connections. Two of the connections are VAM and New VAM interchangeable (UCPJ-1 and UCPJ-2 respectively). The other two connections are Hydril CS and PH6 interchangeable (UCPJ-8 and UCPJ-6 respectively). The UCPJ threads are available from this facility for pipe sizes (OD) 48.3mm through 139.7mm in all API, Gost, and specialty steel grades.

United Casing Tubular Services - Houston (Houston, Texas) has threading capacity for casing in sizes 114.3mm - 339.7mm (4-1/2” – 13-3/8”).

The threading capacity is for all API grades as well as non-API specialty grades. UCTS-Houston also has the capability to thread the UCPJ connections (gas-tight) for pipe sizes (OD) 168.3mm through 244.5mm (6-5/8” – 9-5/8”) in all API, Gost, and specialty steel grades. The facility also provides full pipe servicing capabilities which include third party inspection, third party hydrostatic testing, and general services such as O.D. cleaning, recoating, etc.

United Casing Tubular Services - Midland (Midland, Texas)

We are currently in the process of installing threading and inspection equipment in this recently acquired facility. Once it is fully functional we will be applying for API certification. We anticipate this to be done by latest end-2010, and it will mirror the capabilities of the Houston facility.
